I have noted as the lament states in Thomas Christopher's book "In Search
of Lost
Roses" that when I voiced an interest in some of the really old miniatures
(those introduced in the 1930's to 1960's) that they are very difficult if
not
impossible to find. Christoper mentioned the lament of a rosarian who was
looking
for a 1930's (I think) HT called 'Vesuvius' which he said you can only get
if you
find an old bush and take a cutting. I find this to be true for a lot of the
miniatures of that era are the same as well as (I am sure) any classic from a
period from 25 to 75 years ago.
What does everyone think about this difficulty in finding somewhat recent
past
roses?
