Hi List..a lovely day in Oregon and a perfect morning to drive out to St
Paul for a visit to Heritage Rose Garden.
What a beautiful place it is and to see massed plantings of the old
roses, smell their heady fragrances and get planting ideas was a
wonderful way to spend the time.
I wound up with 2 small roses..Minilights..a small yellow simple petaled
(or whatev er the correct name is for it) patio rose and Sweet Dreams a
orangy-copper patio rose/
These are quite small potted roses and I will put them into 5 gar post
for the rest of this summer I think while I move a south facing
perennial bed around into a rose bed of the low growing patio roses.
I also fell in love with several others that are have to haves next year
when I have more space dug up.
I'm also going to bite the bullet on my Fragrant Cloud, the one buried 10
inches in mulch in a shady bed and dying of wet roots and not enough
shade..gona pull her up and try replanting her tomorrow.
If she doesn't make it (this is the first rose I planted at my house over
20 years ago) that I will replace her from HOGR next year..but I have
hopes.
