[Rose-list] rootstalks

Having been a "lurker" for some time, I have never seen much mention of
rootstalks. I had a J&P white tea rose which has now become just the
rootstalk. It is rather pretty (dark red, somewhat velvety--almost black
toward the center, semi-double), so I think I will keep it (even though it
sort of messes up my color scheme). It had a great flush of bloom in late
May (I am in zone 5). The company was no help, and the internet doesn't
seem to be, either. Can anyone help?
