Dear Valerie,
Pink Simplicity will get blackspot. This a very dry 6a, and I managed it
in late season. They do grow to that size in a couple of years. They are
a shrub and only like light pruning. They do bloom all summer, and make
for a lovely hedge. Treat them as you would a tea: mulch in winter and
you'll be fine.
