I have Hansa, and while my conditions are quite different (south facing,
Oregon clay soil), I can tell you in my garden that Hansa, left to itself,
would grow into a small tree. Beautiful flowers; the first rose to bloom in
my yard usually, fabulous red hips, maintenance free except for pruning.
And then you should be armed and ready. VERY VERY THORNY. That would be my
concern as an "entrance" plant.

For mine is just a little old fashioned garden where the
flowers come together to praise the Lord and teach all
who look upon them to do likewise.
