Hi Michelle,
Hope you had a nice week-end.
Regarding (new, climbing) Blushing Lucy.
I would NOT give it Epson Salts this year,
(perhaps others have differing opinions)
but I would (best in the bottom of the hole)
give it bone meal to help it grow / establish
roots.. maybe you could "scratch some in.
In the next year or two consider giving it the
Salts. She will put out lots of basal growth
in the first several years. As climbers get
old, they sometimes stop putting out new
canes.
Heirloom must give their new roses power
bars, or ginsing, because they sure are
healthy fast growers.
