Re: Pillar Roses


A "pillar" rose is generally has two requirements.

1) It blooms readily from first year growth, no just second year laterals

2) It is a "short" climber. - Thirty foot canes don't make sense wrapped
around an eight foot pillar!

Many "pillar" roses make excellent shrubs as well, especially if you like a
more "relaxed" shrub with a fountain habit.
