Dear Val:
Henry Hudson is a Canadian Explorer rugosa rose - very pretty light green
crinkled rugose leaves, many little prickles, about 2.5'x2.5' for me (2nd
year),
buds are a lovely medium pink opening to white with a very faint pink blush
and
about 15 petals. It blooms continuously. I put 9 in, spring of '97, and
they've done well from the beginning and make a lovely hedge underplanting
other perennials
along a stockade fence. They haven't been bothered by our heat or humidity
and
only occasionally have I seen a munched leaf. Great plant but it doesn't sound
like the one you're trying to identify. Good luck.
Joanie
