Sounds like it may be something you're putting in the water to extend their
vase life?
If they look just as they should before you're cutting them and the other
blooms
on the plant are fine, then it could be something between the cutting and the
final
trip into the vase.  Was the vase used for anything other than flowers?  Have
you
tried taking a bucket of water out with you when cutting and plunging them
immed-
iately into the water?  What a mystery - let us know what the answer is when
you
solve this puzzle.
