the Cornell baking-soda "recipe"

Hi, listmembers:

I just noticed a post that recommended using three tablespoons of baking
soda per gallon of water. That may have been a typo; the "recipe" tested
by Dr. Ken Horst at Cornell is as follows (according to the September
1992 issue of The American Rose magazine):

3 *teaspoons* (not tablespoons) baking soda
1 gallon water
2.5 tablespoons Sunspray horticultural spray oil

The article cautions "Do not attempt higher concentrations of any of the
bicarbonate solutions" [that is, either sodium bicarb (baking soda) or
potassium bicarb] "as they may cause leaf burn."
