[Rose-list] Re: Rose Books

Welcome to the Rose-list Elle, (nice name)

Brent Dickersons "The Old Rose Advisor"; I've glanced at it and it's
a huge book. I will have to check it out closer. The antique plates
sound wonderful.

Brent's new book...Not Yet Available till this month sometime looks
delightful.. "The Old Rose Adventurer: The Once-Blooming Old
European Roses, and More". Awesome colors on the cover face. I think
I will have to get this one first, both books are spendy.

Isn't Susan sweet. You simply must go to HOGR's. I go at least once
a year and usually 3 or 4 times a year. Susan and I are planning to
go the end of this month, we hope. You should meet us there ! It
takes a several hours to ''faint over'' all the roses. Then to the
greenhouse where you have to choice which roses to take home and
which will have to go on your ''wish list''. They also have a small
gift shop that includes books and a few videos.

I have Peter Beales video, "A Celebration of Old Roses" .. my sound
is rather choppy but I've had it several years, love how they print
the names of the roses with pictures again at the end of the tape.

Yes.. I'm sure we could fix you up with ''this type of rose''.... at
least one. :-)

Sincerely,
~Carleen~
