>Horse or mushroom?
>Susan Saxton, zone 6b
asks of the Mushroom compost that was discussed..I just found this out
myself.
Last Friday I had a unit of what was called Mushroom Compost delivered
from a place in Scapoose OR..out in the country.
When it got here, it smelled pretty cow like and after it was dumped, I
discovered that what was called Mushroom Compost was really aged steer
and hay from the farmers.
This was a rip as far as I am concerned, and I asked ahead of time..but
guess I didn't ask enough.
The driver said what I really wanted was Garden Mulch.
Sheesh..well the good thing is that this will definitely rot the
cardboard I have spread on the grass and if it ever stops raining, I can
have garden mulch dumped on top and till it in.
However, for now, its a big pile of cow shit sitting right on the edge of
my front yard..waiting to be raked into the grass.
the joggers love me.
