RE: [Rose-list] Mushroom Compost....

I get mine from a place that sells top soil, fire wood, rocks, you name it.
They sell garden compost, bark chips for paths, the whole gamet. Hopefully
you have something like that in your area. Most places won't deliver less
than a unit.

WARNING: "one" unit is 7 1/2 CUBIC YARDS. A friend of mine ordered some,
and thinking "one" sounded so small... you get the picture. She was
frantically shoveling compost all Sunday so she could get her car out of the
driveway to go to work Monday.

For my money and experience, I put mushroom on less thickly than garden
compost, so I use less. I have a 70 x 100 foot lot that I unfortunately
have to share with a house, garage, deck and driveway. MOST of the rest of
this is in garden beds. I do have some grass. But I use almost an entire
unit a year on the beds, more in pots, and some in the compost file... It's
all gone in no time.

If you can't use that much at once (new gardener, new beds) it's probably
still money-wise to order what they'll deliver and set it aside for next
year.

For mine is a little old fashioned garden where the flowers come
together to praise the Lord and teach all who look upon them to do
likewise.
