Sorry Julie,  I got careless. HOGR's is short for Heirloom Old Garden
Roses. They sell Old, English, and shrub roses all own-root. The are
located in St.Paul and have lovely gardens to walk threw including a
pergola covered with ramblers that must be some 50 feet long.  They
have a small gift shop and have a few books to sell. They are open
almost every day.  

They do have a ''show'' of sorts, it's really a ''convention'' or
''open house'' of sorts.  It's their third biennial ROSEFEST '99.  
I went last time in 97 and it was wonderful. This is held in
Newberg, Oregon at the George Fox University on August 5, 6, and
7th... They have world wide speakers Friday and Saturday night and 
serve a yummy two first class buffet dinners. 

~Friday Night Speakers are:~

KATHY ZUZEK - Buck Roses and ongoing research for winter-hardy and
disease-resistant roses.  

LOUISE CLEMENTS (she and her husband own HOGR) - Roses for a New
Millennium.  

DR.DUANE COYIER- Preventing and treating rose diseases.

~Saturday Night Speakers are:~

PETER BEALES (yes, from England) - My favorite roses.  

BUNNY SKRAN -Shrub roses: their versatility and beauty.  

RICH BAER - Photographing your roses.

They also have daily tours to HOGR's nursery and gardens which are
always informative.  The fee for ROSEFEST is just $99. and worth
every penny.  Brochures and registration forms are available by
calling them at 503-538-1576.

For those interested they also have extra bus tours of Portland Rose
Gardens and other points of interest, which is extra.

Maybe I will see some of you there... there was quite a crowd last
year.
