[Rose-list] Fish Emulsion

Fish Emulsion is bottled pureed fish... used as a great feeder of all
kinds of plants and roses. I buy the Alaska brand, the ratio is
5-1-1. I buy it by the gallon in the "deodorized" form, still kind
of stinky, but fades by the end of the day. 1 gallon usually feeds
all my 100 roses and several small trees and shrubs. Also good for
the perennials, but I'm kind of stingy with it. Other than the
compost, this is all I feed my roses. No sprays are used either, just
some mulch come summer.

You dilute it according to the directions. For roses that 3
Tablespoons to 1 gallon of water. I used a 3 gallon bucket and then
tote the bucket around the garden, giving each rose about a gallon.
Heirloom Old Garden Roses recommends using it for new roses for the
first two years. It usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to feed them all. I
try to do this every month, starting in about April threw August.

The have just come out with a pellet form. I thought it might be
easier and I haven't tryed it yet. This stuff your are to scratch in
about the soil... the bucket/liquid form will also water my roses...
hum...

Sincerely,
