Hi Donna:
I should have remembered how hot and humid it can be in many parts of the
South. I used to live in Southeast Missouri (Cape Girardeau); summer was
ultra warm and sticky.
You should be able to take a sucker now and root it. Keep it away from sun
between late morning and sunset. Good luck.
