Thanks, John, for the generous offer of more rain, but we're holding up just 
fine w/o
any more. And I wonder if the light pink rugosa is 'Sarah Van Fleet'?  She's 
a light
pink single with vivid yellow stamens and vicious thorns - no hips. Medium 
green leaves and gets to about 6'x6'. 

Do you have trouble with Japanese beetles? I was plagued for the first time 
last year.

I didn't know Thumper ate rose canes - never been bothered here (uh oh - I 
don't 
usually tempt things with those sorta phrases).
