Alicia,
thanks for the info - very useful.

my TB canes were starting to get very thick at the end of the first year.
likewise, i had very little dieback. i did top it last fall because it was
very
tall and it was only 6 months old (in my garden.) it was one of the first
to take off for me this year. right now she has lots of blooms. i like
the way there are little ticks of hot pink showing in the buds.
the only thing i don't like is that yellow green foliage. is yours on
the yellow side? i assume it is the normal color and not deficient in
something. (?)
TB is 6' in zone 4 hum? well, that will totally block my fence.
i wonder if i can trim it and keep her and keep her 4-5 feet tall?
how do rugosas take to steady pruning?
Phillip - wondering if both of my Therese Bugnet's are actually
weeds! i.e. plants out of place...
Sadorus, IL
zone 5
