Hi!
I can't go to the HOGR open house this year but I sent off an order
today for their lost tag roses. I have a spot that needs some orphans
to love it.
My roses are budding up and I have had a single rose bloom on a few
bushes but the late cold snap made them sort of distorted and without
much scent. I am looking forward to the main flush of bloom in June.
Gophers are descimating my plants. Chewed stems of lilies, perennials
and a rose bush too. Any ideas? We set traps but to no avail. We have
neighbors with dogs on all but the creek side of the property and they
too have gopher problems. I do not want to use poison but have put moth
crystals in my more recent plantings. I planted some dahlia tubers with
a virtual blizzard of moth crystals in the hole. HELP!
Carleen, since I had such good luck to start with on cuttings and then
lost them, I would like to try some more. I can't promise more yummies
until after garden season is past but I will certainly pay the postage
for some cuttings. I really think that at the proper time I can make
them grow.
It got really hot today. It was only the 3rd or 4th day we have had
temps above 60's.
Sharpen those noses so you do not miss a bit of the lovely rose scent
this spring.
