I did a search on the internet and came across a study on using epsom salts
in the garden (which goes to prove that you can find just about anything on
the internet). Seems as if you combine one tablespoon of epsom salts and
one gallon of water, spray on the roses every six weeks, the study reported
that there was greener foliage, bushier plants, and more roses than on the
control plants.
However, the same study also concluded that when you scratch in 1/2 cup of
the epsom salts around the plants, there was little difference between them
and the control plants. Seems as if foliar spraying is the way to go to
get results.
