Hi!

I really enjoyed your letter.  The pictures were a real bonus. I could
not decide if any of the photos were of yours or not.  I rather thought
the one that you were in was you looking at someone else's goods.

We have been hauling our compost to Cashmere along with a bunch of
plants and bulbs etc.  Loren unloads the compost and I plant plants. 
While I do that he has been painting garage and trim etc.  Yesterday we
went down there but I did not participate in anything more strenuous
than emptying a few boxes.  When I went to see my oncologist he found
some abnormal tissue on my vagina and sent me to see a GYN.  I went to
one here and he removed what he thought was all the affected tissue and
sent it off for tests.  No word for almost 2 months and then I was
called to come in for more biopsies as the cells in the tissue sent
before were precancerous.  That did not sound bad but it is because it
means it is on it's way to being a cancer production.  They put my
appointment off till the 27th of Nov.  That was unacceptable to me so I
used a bit of influence to get an earlier appointment.  Got one for last
Thursday.  Believe it or not the way they get the abnormal tissue to
show up is to swab the area with vinegar.  After they did that they
found quite a number of abnormal cells all around the area.  The next
thing they did was swab me with iodine to bring them up even more. 
Brought me up too, almost levitated off the table!  They took alot of
tissue samples and then they said they were going to apply some stuff
like mustard inside the vagina.  Well, I think it was Chinese hot
mustard as it burned like crazy and as it is expelled a bit each time I
sit down, it still burns.  The next step is to cut the "flaps" off and
sew the raw sides together.  They are going to do that the day before
Thanksgiving at the hospital.  I am not looking forward to any of that
at all.  I will have 4 days to heal some and then I will be going for my
last day at work.  The crew is planning a retirement reception at work
for me. I will also have a meeting with the Dept. of Revenue auditor to
review his appraisals and determine if they are correct or not.  

Scott won the election and the staff is planning a party for Monty this
Friday as a sort of consolation/celebration.  Monty likes his home and
family and his ability to have some solitude out on the reservation so I
think he will eventually be happy he lost the election so he can enjoy
those things for a while more.  

We have had some people who had lots of desire to get the house but
absolutely NO money.  They are weeded out now and it appears Ted Moomaw,
Sr. will get it.  He is our sister-in-law's nephew.  Marge Moomaw is his
mother.  

Bob Hirst is the new commissioner and he had bypass surgery 3 days prior
to election.  His opponent was a woman, liberal and concerned about the
environment.  Well, you know how the cow country/orchardist people
handled that.  Not well at all.

Jackie Bradley won by a large margin.  She said she lost her summer and
was broke too after election.  Those things don't worry me, but her
health is suffering just now.  She got too tired and caught a cold that
has turned into what sounds like bronchitis.  I hope she will rest a bit
and give herself a chance to get well.  She said she was going to fix
dinner for herself, Bob and her brother & family on Thanksgiving and she
insists she will bring dinner to us too since I will be confined to bed
for a few days.  I will try to fix some of the meal for all of us before
I go for surgery.

Well, darned old Televar cut me off and I was unable to get back on line
so I guess I should sign off and work at getting back on and send this.
