I never use Rootone or any of those products, but I always take my cuttings
from a sturdy cane with several laterals. I cut the main cane into
inch-ong pieces with the lateral sticking out of the middle like a little
upside down T. I use vermiculite to pot up the cutings and I pot them on
when the new growth starts into regular potting or garden soil. I have
found that bottom heat helps some roses to root.
