Re: Re: dead?

Hey! A live one!

My roses are doing nicely now that the heat and drought have left. I'll hate
to see my water bill; a lot of water went toward keeping the roses healthy
during our long dry spell.

The blossoms now are gorgeous. I suppose it's the roses' last hurrah before
winter arrives.

We've had temps down to 33 at night, warming into the 60s during the day.
Our first freeze is forecast for tomorrow night, so there go the roses, and
late-blooming perennials, for another season. Soon, I'll have to bed down
the roses for their long winter's nap.

Oh well, I'll have an excuse to spend more time in my basement plant room
playing with the plants under lights.

Thanks for writing, Carleen.
