Hi John and Carleen:
Does anyone have any stories to share with bringing along 1 year old shrub
roses?
I've had a tough time with them this summer...they resented full sun big time
and something ate the leaves continually to lacy shreds of their former
selves. Should have shaded them some, in retrospect. I don't think it was the
Japanese beetles that were feasting on the leaves...rather a common bug that
likes young leaves as opposed to mature, tougher leaves as my other roses
didn't experience this problem. They're coming along ok now, and I think
they'll make it thru their first winter, but I had to replace them 3 times
(once due to mislabeling, but the incorrect babies had trouble too, so it
isn't just the cultivar).
Who else is lurking out there??? Raining here (at long last) so it's a good
day for the computer...
