Re: Digest and other things

Do roses have thorns or do thorns have roses? (sorry, couldn't resist)...
: )

According to my Antique Rose Emporium catalog (which I can't find at the
moment) Dr. Robert Bayse in Texas has been trying for a thorn-free rose for
quite a while. I'm not sure if he ever succeeded. I have his shrub,
"Belinda's Dream", and though it's not thornless, it's still a wonderful
rose.

The HT "Bride's Dream" is virtually thorn free. I love this rose -- the
palest of clear pink blossoms on nice long stems; unfortunately, it hasn't
thrived for me. I had two, and one of them kicked the bucket this summer :

And yes, it has been awfully quiet around here... Where is everyone?

PS I looked at the Web site you posted -- great site! I have saved some
of the photos as wallpaper on my desktop. : )
