Dear Sansevieristas;
I am somewhat surprised that there has been no response to Juan's
remarks about the 'death' of "The Sansevieria Journal". I don't know about
other sunbscribers, but I thought it was an amazing piece of publishing.
Obviously a one-man job, the level of writing and illustration was
excellent and the intriguing bits and pieces of info about Sansevieria was
simply unparalleled. It seemed an impossible and thankless job to keep up
the quantity and quality of publication.
I have certainly savoured and saved every issue and was saddened to
see it stop, now officially end.
Juan's move and troubles were obviously too much to revive this
journal. It will be a LONG time before we Sansevieria growers have our own
publication to equal what Juan produced. The fact that Juan received no
request for a refund indicates the hopes that subscribers had/have of still
getting a few more issues.
We all owe Juan a serious thanks for a thankless job of putting out
an informative and fun publication. My sympathies to all who never
subscribed (beg/ borrow copies to read if you can) and thanks to Juan for
the issues that came out.
Best wishes and hope Juan will add his comments to this email group.
