Re: [SANS] Sansevieria parva "Golden', HBG 61846

hello all--

I've got a variegated parva too, which is descended from a plant from
Huntington. Don't really know if it's HBG 61846, but I imagine that it is.
Slow growing, but sturdy. Some of the individuals are almost completely
yellow, with a narrow green edge. I can spare an offset or two if anyone
needs one.

Also, I had a chat today with Madelyn at Grigsby's. I was unhappy that a
variegated Mason/Congo I bought from them last year (consisting of one leaf)
has not produced any variegated offsets (just two "regular" ones). She told
me that this plant has to be "worked with"..in other words, keep removing the
regular pups with the goal of encouraging the plant to produce more variegated
ones. She says the average ratio among their plants is 2 variegated offsets
to 5 regular ones, although some produce all variegated pups, and some don't
produce any. She also said to give it a big pot, and to keep it moist.

Any comments? Has anyone had experience with this plant?

Thanks.
Kirk
