Sansevieria 'Bally 12681' and Sans. suffruticosa

I thought I had answered previously in this forum but I cannot locate the
posting.

Sansevieria 'Bally 12681', which is sometimes seen under the invalid
latinized pseudonym Sansevieria ballyi or even further corrupted to
Sansevieria ballii, is a choice small growing selection of Sansevieria
suffruticosa var. longituba Pfennig (Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 102 (1-4): 178
(1981)) from Kenya. Since it is different from typical Sans. suffuticosa
var. longituba, the collector number should be retained. A full citation
for it would be Sansevieria suffruticosa var. longituba 'Bally 12681'. Does
anyone know of the origin of this cultivar?

The only reliable way to distinguish the variety from typical Sans.
suffruticosa is by its longer flower tube (19-24 mm. verses 10-12 mm.
long). You need to wait until it blooms.

There are several other cultivars of Sans. suffruticosa out there also
known by collector numbers or localities. A particularly choice one with
laterally compressed (falcate) leaves is called Sanseveria 'Mutomo'.
Another one is grown as Sansevieria 'Lavranos'. Does anyone have any
further info on these or any others?

There is also a variegated Sans. suffruticosa.

There are also several allied species in the Sansevieria suffruticosa
group.
