Hi Alan,
Only one thing caught my eye from the very beginning: "wachsgelb".
The berries, the author claims, are wax-yellow, namely yellow as wax, as I
interpret it. Sorry, I do not interpret it as waxy-yellow, that is, waxy and
yellow.
The former interpretation will make it a pale yellow, pale as wax, or a
sickly yellow.
Yet, as I have said before I have not seen a Sansevieria before whose berries
are yellow. Only albinos or perhaps sterile seeds.
I have no answer other than a far fetched one, namely "sealing-wax yellow"
(Siegelwachs), which is indeed orangey in color. Perhaps you want or comment
on this.
I have already asked people in Germany about this and I am afraid my
supposition is not acceptable, however I would still like to check this out
with a German botanist and make sure we have the right color. (and they say
translations are easy.........)
I am leaving tomorrow morning for Buenos Aires for one month. I am sure Alan,
your translation is OK, I will take a copy and read in on the plane!
Again, best wishes to all for the Holidays.
Juan
