Concerning the topic of repotting of Sansevierias, I was struck by a number of
the comments that mentioned overpotting the plants.
I've always practiced underpotting my snakes and I've always had luck. The
thing about overpotting, the grower must be careful in his watering practices
then. The danger of soil staying moist longer is a real one in this case.
Those who have commented so far on the list obviously are wonderful growers
and experienced waterers. They know how to control the moisture level in the
soil, they understand the concept of watering only when the plant only really
needs it. But others who do not have the expertise or time, probably aren't as
dilligent.
What I'm saying is that to be on the careful side, I underpot. I've very
rarely lost a snake to rot and I've had flowering. And this is the advice I'd
give to less experienced growers.
