cultivation problems

I hope some of you gurus out there can help me. I'm having several
cultivation problems. Several of my cylindrical shaped Sansevierias appear
to be drying up from the tip of the leaf downward. The dried part looks
completely desiccated or dehydrated. This is a very slow process. They are
under 400 watt halogen lights in a sun room that gets as cool as 65 degrees
at night and up to about 75 degrees in the daytime. They get from 300-500
fc light for 10 hours daily. They get some natural sunlight but not much as
its winter in Ohio.

A related problem, is that my Bantells Sensation seems to be withering up or
drying up from the tip down words on just 1 leaf at a time (oldest growth).

I'm using electric heaters so I know it can't be fumes from natural gas
(which was my problem last year). I'm really wondering whether it's too
much or too little water, and how to tell. I have been watering them when
dry (not always bone dry) using a moisture meter--which comes out to every
week for small pots to every 1 - 2 weeks for larger pots. The ones
withering are all in large pots.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
