Hello Narda,
You have a very unique name, this is my first time
to come across someone with that name. HOSTAS, hmmm--,
You are a lucky one. Those things just do not grow for me at
all.

Birds do what come natural;-looking for food, seeds,
worms, bugs and whatever else they can find for their survival.
Now days they somehow think the best place to find food is in
the Sans pots. With the Lithops, They will consume the whole
plant leaving nothing but maybe a few thread of roots. Same
with Hawthias. With the Sans, they poke through the soil,
some times leaving a big hole in the pot, damaging leaves and
roots. ( All of the Sans are in pots.) When the birds decide that
they are done looking, they leave you a great wonderful mess
in their appreciation plus nitrogen for the Sans.Often they will
lift the Sans completely out of its pot.:>(( I am outdoors most of
the time, but can't forever stand guard.(tear rolling down my face)
Perhaps the DARN BIRDS here are much hungrier
and having a harder time finding food.
What are your most favorite Sans? Must be COOLD there.
Do you grow them outdoors or indoors?
