Wlcome, Jon! When i read yur intoduction i had an eerie sense of deja vu...
while not the first rare plants i collected, i got into them in the early
70s. got some from Mobile gardens, many from Abby and still have that
original trifasicata. i would suggest however, after 27 years you might
consider bumping it up from a ten to a fifteen, which you will not be able
to lift. When i had eight differeent kinds, Loop's Pride, Bantel's
Sensation, Silver trifasciata, and Silver Trifasciata laurentii, green and
gold hahnii, and something like parva, i went to see Manny Singer and
brought back a satchel full of these plants. I found pet homes for the
Begonias, and for the African Violets, and began what has turned into a
monstrous adiction. They satisfy the need for form and colour, and
variegation. For 27 years I have been predicting a great botanical craze
like "Tulipomania" but it has not been a self-fulfilling prophecy. I can
wait...
So a welcome to you and your potbound plants!
