Re: [SANS] Bally 30 Bally 12681 saga

Hi Alan,
We had this discussion quite a while ago so I have searched my disks
for the discussions but I cannot find them. They will be in the
Archives of the list but I am not sure how to get at them, no doubt
someone out there will :-)
But from memory here goes if I have it wrong way round no doubt
someone will jump in.
Bally 12681 and 30 are both the same beast Bally 12681 is the field
collection number that should be used. Saying this I have had
numerous plants all different labelled as one or the other. It/They
should look like S. suffruticosa and is said to be the var.
longituba.
As far as I remember Juan said that at a nursery when they were
moving the plants were packed up and numbered the Bally12681 was
packed up as #30. When unpacked it was labelled up Bally30 and has
since done the rounds before anyone realized the error.
If I have this wrong Alan I am sure someone will jump in, please do
If I can fathom out how to get at the archives I'll come back.

>Bally 12686? Don't know that one. Anyone else know it?
Never heard of this one Alan but it looks to me someone has misread
a badly labelled plant or a typo etc for 12681.
Regards John
