Hermine, when are you coming to my house to help identify the Sansevieria,
John Trager will also welcome you to the new greenhouse, which all of you will
be welcome to visit, it is located in the growing compound. I may lucky
enough to escort the crowds around on tours one day a week, that would be fun.
I thought I would never see a new greenhouse put up during my life time. Our
old one leaked like a sieve.
My Sansevierias are showing some growth this winter and several are putting up
inflorescence. I hope I will get some seeds this year. I put up a hummingbird
feeder in the greenhouse. I see the dew forming on the flower buds, I hope
that will encourage
insets visiting, I went out and bought fine brushes, but I heard of another
method to fertilize passed on my Jerry Barad. I will use the thread of my
shade cloth and poke it down into the flower, hopefully I will reach the right
parts. Any other suggestions,
Friday, I will gather more information on Savseviera from the Huntington's
card file,
so hang in there, I'll see what can be done. I have also found my 1985
catalogue from Singers nursery, this mentions more books, journals etc. on
Sanseviera, perhaps these will be available through Rainbow Gardens. If not,
I will check the books at the Huntington and see if they will let me run off
copies. Norma
