Hello everyone again. I have just read the latest exchanges, and feel very
sorry that the group has come to this. As I said to Norma & Steve, live &
let live. It's only a hobby.

Norma please don't leave the group. We need you.
Steve, I think your latest message and comments were uncalled for, and if
you intended to make things better, I'm afraid you had the opposite effect.
You obviously have different priorities to many of us for whom growing
plants is more important than taxonomy. You need to understand this and
have some tolerance and respect.

Juan,welcome back!!

As I am giving lectures on Sansevierias now to local branches, a few
questions have come up on which I would welcome comment:

1. Why S.trifasciata? "trifasciata" means three-faces I think.
2. I say you can't get a variegated plant from a leaf cutting, but several
people say they have done it even with 'Manolin'
Any experience with S.kirkii 'Coppertone'?
3. The perennial question of the two S.ehrenbergii - from Arabia and from
Kenya. Can we call the Kenyan one S.robusta? and solve the problem?

Anyone want our collection list, give me a fax number.
I cannot e-mail it now as it is on an old computer system, and I have to
put it on this one, which will be done later in the year, when I have more
time.

Regards from a cloudy but steamy South of England
Alan Butler
