i think one of the reasons potting mix is not much talked about, is it
seems not very much to matter. i have grow them in sandy rocky stuff, in
awful pure sticky adobe, in a good gesneriad mix, and what-have-you. we
don't spend all that much time talking about cultural requirements, because
by comparison with other plants, they are so accomodating. true, a few are
fussy. mostly the very variegated ones, or the super slow desert ones. but
mostly, they are among the easiest things to grow.
