And if I may add, even as a non-commercial  act, I too keep a tray or two
with leaves cut at random, even broken ones, to have a steady supply of
plantlets. and i never give up. those subterranean lumps often give rise to
many fine plants. many years ago someone told me he got more plants from
sections of leaf cuts higher up on the leaf, rather than towards the base.
i have never verified this,k but I wonder if anyone else has kept such
records?
