Just an aside about rooting leaves. I like to keep some leaves of S.
cylindrica patula rooting all the time because they are so prolific at
producing little plants with cute little fans of leaves. One leaf will
produce many plants which I pot up for plant society sales and raffle
tables. They always all sell.

Hi everyone,
Generally speaking leaf cuttings strike (set roots) fairly quickly
within 6 weeks but as I have mentioned before there are exceptions.
The quickest to root" FOR ME" is the flat leaved types generally.
The round stems only marginally speaking longer. But surely the
question should have been not how long it takes to root a cutting
but how long before young plants appear from cuttings.
