Sansevieria 'Koko' is from Kenya?

Dear Juan,

Please tell us more about the Kenya plant that closely resembles
Sansevieria 'Koko". What does the data say? Do you believe it to be an
undescribed species?

I was told I was wrong for saying there is no place called Koko in
Kenya. Thank you for setting the record straight.

Hi there,

Contrary to what Nathan Wong says, Sansevieria sp. 'Koko' was named for
Koko
Crater, Hi. The name was given by Ed Eby, since he found a few plants that
had lost the aluminum tag. He was correct, since it appears to be a species
and when one needs a fast name, that name is as good a any. It is certainly
better than calling it S. sp.'Hollywood'. There is no place called Koko in
Kenya.

I have a plant from Kenya with collection data that looks quite close to
this
one.

Cheers,
Juan
