Re: [SANS] SANSEVIERIA IN INDIA - NOTES

Dear Norma,

It took me a while to realize you were actually referring to the anonymous
Sansevieria booklet from the Lucknow, India: National Botanic Gardens,
1959. It is not a journal.

I have seen the booklet in Mary Chiles' library and it does not provide any
new or original information on the Indian species. It is just a synopsis of
N.E. Brown's monograph with cultural information added. It didn't even
include names published since Brown. I didn't even see a need to photocopy
it for my own reference.

Steve and all, I believe Alice may have the journal from India, that refers
to this plant. I talked to her tonight. This journal only printed material
on plants that
come from India, I think you are on the right track. Congratulations!

I also have a Sans. named 'Malawi' I'll check the card files and see if it
came from
Juan. Thanks for your patience, Norma
