good observations, Hermine. I've got S. Bally 12681 (is this really a
suffruticosa type?) growing in a mossed basket with about eight generations
cascading to at least six feet from the rim. Impressive, but
deadly........it'll poke your eye out if you get too close! Seems like it
would survive as an epiphyte.
I've also got fischeri producing solitary leaves 40" tall in a crowded 12"
pot. Far from 12' long, but I can't plant it out here in Memphis. But after
many years of growing it, I've only ever seen two leaf forms.
By the way, does anyone know anything about the heritage of S. "Frosty
Spears" as offered by Grigsby's? It seems to behave as a suffruticosa as
well.
