Hi everyone;
My Friend from the Gates Cactus & Succulent Society has a S. singularis. This
one has three stages of growth and it looks like three different plants!
I think there may be more than one species that acts this way. I can see it
sure would make for a lot of confusion for taxonomists.
Does the Sansevieria have a tendancy to sport? In horticulture 101, we were
taught that to put down a leaf of S. trifasciata 'Laurentii' we would get a
plain trifasciata. It worked that way every time. I've since read that these
color breaks are "Chimeras".
I had the opportunity to borrow "The Sansevieria Book" by Hermine Stover. It
was an interesting read, if one is as nutty as I am about plants.
Keep the info coming folks...I'm loving it.
