Fw: [SANS] Guineensis, aubrytiana/metallica

S. metallica is one of my favorites. It is a huge grower which has the
irregular banding pattern of aubrytiana and kirkii. The leaves also get a
gun-metal blue cast when grown in bright light. My plant has had four foot
tall leaves. I haved bloomed it in an 8" pot but that size is too small for
a mature plant. A friend, on my suggestion, moved his plant up to a five
gallon pot; and the plant loved it, growing many tall leaves. I left my
plant in the smaller pot for too long and with neglect it dried out and went
down hill until I finally got around to potting it up. Its happy again.
The bloom spike is bigger than any other species that I have seen. Its as
tall as the leaves and covered with hundreds, maybe thousands of flowers.
They can make a real mess when they fall, but are spectacular when in flower

PS: I'm looking for people to participate in the Members and Their
Collections program at next month's CSSA convention in Las Vegas. I would
love to have a sansevieria collection/collector in the mix. If anyone is
attending and would like to show their slides please contact me. Each
participant will have anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to show up to about 30
slides depending on their material. The program is on the Sunday opening of
the convention.

Thank You very much To Juan Chahinian for the information, that I am the
lucky owner of a S.Guineensis/Longiflora. I was really taken by surprise.

And now, when I took a look on the plant through the new glasses, as an
extra astonishment, I spotted the first flower on it's way.

About my "big" Hahnii type. I understand, that Trifasciata Futura is a low
type, yellow margined Trifasciata. I Guess that a reverse plant, will look
more like a low green Trifasciata, but this plant looks exactly like a
Hahni. The only difference is the much longer leaves. Uptill 35 cm/14 inch.

I have been looking on the photographs from John Gamesby. I have bought a
plant very similar to the "aubrytiana ?" from the Botanic Garden Store in
Copenhagen. It was labelled S. metallica. The patterning and form of the
leaves looks identic and my plant has very thin red/brown margins too.
I can't judge the size from the photograph, my plant grows to about 4 feet
tall.

Could it be the same, or maybe mine is wrong labelled?
