Re: [SANS] Madman

I did not think that by this time anybody would call Sansevieria trifasciata 'Lillian True' other than by that name [notice how I do not mention any other name(s)].
Your article dissipated all doubts.

This fellow said he had bought or obtained 'Lillian True' from other sources, and that what i sent him bore no resemblence to what he had obtained elsewhere! So I was wondering why he would think or assume "elsewhere" is the source for right names in general, as well as in specific for 'L.T.'. If he said, i have this same plant only it is called (supply various other names for 'Lillian True') I would have said, some people call it that. and proceeded with the explanation i gave him, that my plants came from Mrs True's plants in her living room. direct descendents, selected out for more yellow.

And Juan, we all know you are multi-lingual. and smart, stop fishing for compliments! I creak along in english having forgotten how to ask for a glass of water in french. Ok, so i just remembered. but cereously, as someone said... where was I? oh....

I had phone contact with this fellow and told him when he asked about some cultivars of S. t.l. et al, that i had not seen them as real or stable, and did not carry them, having bought them, eagerly at first....(sometimes from several sources) and that no blame was connected, some variants never reproduce reliably. UP FRONT! i told him when i didn't carry something for sale, even if I had purchased or obtained it under that name. Some of the things for which he asked really do not exist. you know what i mean, anyone who has mucked about with variation knows....

still gnawing on rocks
