Dear Youth Gardening Enthusiast,
Our first Arizona Youth Gardening Forum meeting on April 18, 2001 was a wild
success! Together we have laid the foundation to build stronger
partnerships to enhance and expand children's gardening in our county. At
the meeting we learned that we already have wonderful ideas and valuable
resources, and that our challenge is to inform, connect and build on these
strengths.
If you were there, thank you for attending! If you were unable to attend,
please see the attached meeting minutes and join us for our next meeting!
The Arizona Youth Gardening Forum will continue to meet quarterly on the
third Wednesday of the month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon with future
locations to be determined.

Please bring 1/2 pound of something to be added into a "group gorp" for us
to munch through the morning (granola, nuts, m & ms, raisins, etc.) We'll
mix it together with what others brings in one big bowl and share it around.
Please extend this invitation to anyone that you think should be at the
table. We would love to include everyone who is involved in supporting
youth gardening in Maricopa County.
If you are joining us for the first time, please bring 50 copies of the
following to share with the group:
* A one-page summary of the programs that you offer to youth gardens and a
brief statement of your organizations vision and goals and how they relate
to children's gardening;
* A copy of handouts, and materials that you provide to teachers and program
leaders.
* A list of references that you recommend to teachers and program leaders.
* A list of contacts of people, places, and websites to which you refer
