summer care

Hi Everyone,
My name is Cindy and I am a Master Gardener in PA.  I am looking for
different solutions to caring for the school garden in the summer months
while the children are away. 

I have just begun researching establishing school gardens in our area.
This seems to be the hot spot topic from administrators in our area.
One elementary school in our area (Poconos) does use a garden setting
for education , but mostly the students compost and plant; they don't
really get to see the full cycle.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
