Hi CIndy -- What has been very successful for our school in Ga is to have
weekly watering/weeding signups for the summer's duration. The perk is that
whatever's ripe that week is to be picked by the caretaker of the week.
Parents find that they can commit to a week of care (usually it comes down to
one or two days in a given week). Post the signup at a PTO meeting or at a
meeting where the parents are (eg if you have a grounds committee) likely to
be thinking about the out of doors. Good luck!
