Cheryl--the company I used for heirloom seeds was Seeds of Change. www.seedsofchange.com. They carry heirloom varieties. Also, believe it or not--you can run right down to Kmart and Martha Stewart carries some wonderful heirloom seeds in her new seed line. She carries Black-eyed Susan vine and Scarlet Runner Bean (Painted Lady) both being heirloom varieties, which I bought. In the upper right hand corner of her seed packets it says "heirloom variety" if they are. Also, go to your search engine and type in heirloom seeds--that will take you to a list of sites for heirlooms. I found a great one the other night--Underwood Gardens (www.UnderwoodGardens.com). They had "ground cherries" which I loved as a child! and many other types of seeds that one can't resist! Good luck. I love the heirlooms, too. Seems important to me to cultivate these types of seeds--the more of us that do--the less of a chance that we will all be lost in the land of genetically engineered foods/seeds/crops.. Lorri in Colorado---where it is SNOWING again! We've received about 2-3" more today and it just keeps on coming!
PS--I dont know where you live--but we have Wild Oats stores here and they carry Seeds of Change seeds. The seed exchange is wonderful, too.

> Thanks, CherylI recently received a catalog from and ordered from Baker
Creek Heirloom Seeds. Received my order in less than two
weeks. They have an online catalog, but no way to order
online that I could tell.Some of the varieties offered that I couldn't resist ordering
were Missouri Pink Love Apple and Sungold Select Tomatoes;
Black Futsu, Jumbo Pink Banana, and Lemon Squashes; Burgundy
Okra; and Old-Fashioned Vining Petunias (the kind with
fragrance).Now, my problem ... where am I going to find room to grow all
of this!I'm thinking I'll try another 3' x 8' square-foot bed in an
out-of-the-way corner and do it lasagna style, then plant
the vining squashes and let the vines wander over the ground
outside the bed in all directions. Maybe try some bamboo
teepees in the bed and run Asparagus Beans up them, above
the squashes.Carolyne
