   Two four inch lag screws should hold th corners with pipe straping going
around the corners to a one inch drywall screw.  This is the galvanized
metal colied strips you have seen in the hardware dept.  It has alternating
1/4 inch and 3/8 inch holes and is a damn site cheaper than angle irons.

   One half or one inch rerod 2/3 feet long might work.  You might find it
cheap at a local scrap yard.  Even the angle iron rails from an old bed
should hold.  For looks a touch of paint and they would all but dissapear.
I would place the irons so both legs touch the board and form a triangle
with it. Triangles are the strongest of geometric figures.
